Welcome to Logos Coach | Bible Study with Jason Stone
Your Guide from Overwhelm to Confident Scripture Study
Busy ministry life. Family. Work. A heart that genuinely wants to know Scripture more deeply.
If you’ve ever looked at your Bible (or the Logos app) and thought, “I want to go deeper, but I don’t even know where to start,” this space is for you.
You’re not lazy. You’re not unspiritual. You’re just busy—and often under-equipped with simple, clear pathways into the text. My goal here is to walk alongside you as your guide, helping you move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling genuinely confident as a student of the Bible.
What Logos Coach Is All About
This Substack is about learning to read and interpret Scripture more deeply—using the Logos Bible Study App as my primary tool, but not my only one.
Here’s the heartbeat of this publication:
Interpretation of Scripture
I’ll talk about how to actually understand what a passage means: context, genre, word meanings, structure, and how it all points to Christ and shapes our lives.Real-World Bible Study
Not just theory, but how real people actually study the Bible in the middle of full, complicated lives.Logos as a Helper, Not a Hurdle
I’ll show you how to use Logos to serve your Bible study, not distract from it—reading plans, searches, original-language tools, commentaries, and workflows that keep you in the text instead of lost in the software.
Over time, I’ll also step beyond Logos when it’s helpful—into questions of theology, spiritual formation, and practical tools for keeping Scripture central in everyday life.
How My YouTube Interviews Fit In
If you’ve seen my YouTube channel, you know I’ve started a series of conversations with different Christians about how they use Logos to study the Bible. Those interviews are a key part of this whole project.
Here’s how I see the relationship:
YouTube will show you how people are studying Scripture with Logos—screen shares, workflows, and practical tips.
This Substack will go deeper—where I slow down to:
reflect on what we can learn from each person’s approach,
unpack specific study moves step-by-step,
and help you adapt those ideas into your own Bible study rhythm.
Think of YouTube as the “live demo,” and this Substack as my “coaching notes and training plan” you can return to when you’re not watching a screen.
What to Expect in Future Posts
Here’s the rough journey I’ll lead you on:
Showcasing How Others Study the Bible
I’ll be writing posts that correspond with the YouTube interviews—looking at how different people use the Logos Bible Study App to explore Scripture.
I’ll ask questions like:How did they set up their layout?
How do they move from reading to deeper study?
How do they use Logos to answer their real questions about the text?
My Own Questions About the Bible
As we move forward, I’ll start to bring my own questions to the text—things I’m wrestling with, passages I’m trying to understand more deeply.
I’ll walk you through:the passage I’m studying,
the questions I’m asking,
and how I practically use Logos (and other tools) to chase down those answers.
Guided Bible Study and Interpretation
You can expect posts that:unpack key interpretive skills in plain language,
offer simple workflows you can re-create in Logos,
and connect good study to real-life ministry and discipleship.
And in all of it, I want to keep you focused on what matters most: knowing Christ more clearly and loving people more faithfully through his Word.
The Next Post: Dr. Mark Ward
My very next post here will highlight Dr. Mark Ward and how he uses the Logos Bible Study App to explore Scripture himself.
I’ll talk about:
how he approaches a passage,
what tools in Logos he leans on,
and what you can borrow from his approach for your own study.
If you don't have the app yet, you can start for free with the Logos Free Edition to follow along with my upcoming tutorials.
You don’t want to miss that article, now’s the time to subscribe.
How You Can Participate
This isn’t meant to be a one-way broadcast. I’d love for this to become a genuine learning community for people who want to grow in their understanding of Scripture.
Here’s how you can help shape where this goes:
Subscribe
If you want to follow along as I explore Scripture and Logos, hit the subscribe button so each new post lands in your inbox. That way you’re not relying on algorithms to remember to come back.Consider Supporting the Substack
If you find the interviews, workflows, and study guides helpful, you can support this work through a paid subscription. That support makes it possible for me to:schedule more interviews,
create more in-depth content,
and give more time to serving you as your coach and guide.
Ask Your Own Questions in the Comments
This is huge.
Use the comments to:share the questions you have about the Bible,
ask about specific Logos features that confuse you,
or tell me what kind of study workflows you’d love to see broken down.
Your questions will directly shape what I feature in future posts and interviews.
If you’re feeling stretched thin but still hungry to understand the Bible more clearly, you’re in the right place. My hope is that Logos Coach becomes a quiet, steady companion on your journey—helping you grow in confidence, clarity, and joy as you open God’s Word.
I’d be honored to have you along.
Subscribe, say hello in the comments, and let’s start this journey together.
What’s one question about Bible study—or about Logos—that you’d love to see me tackle here first?
